Muzaffarpur, May 11: Ten boys escaped from a shelter home in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district after allegedly breaking a window grill, police said on Monday.
The incident took place on Sunday evening at the shelter home located in the Narauli locality under the Mushahari police station limits.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kantesh Kumar Mishra said police received information regarding the disappearance of 10 children from the shelter home.

“Preliminary investigation found that the boys escaped by breaking a window grill of the shelter home,” the SSP told reporters.
Police said a case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the shelter home in-charge.
Mishra said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the incident and trace the missing boys.
Investigators are also examining CCTV footage from nearby areas as part of the probe.
The SSP added that strict action would be taken against shelter home officials if any negligence or involvement was found during the investigation.
Following the incident, additional security personnel have been deployed inside and outside the shelter home.
In a similar incident last year, six inmates had escaped from a shelter home in Bihar’s Katihar district.
