Hassan records highest rainfall in Karnataka; Channarayapatna’s Sante Shivar tops with 76.5 mm

Bengaluru, Jun 13: Several parts of Karnataka received significant rainfall during the last 24 hours, according to data available with the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC).

The highest rainfall in the state was recorded at Sante Shivar village panchayat limits in Channarayapatna taluk of Hassan district, which received 76.5 mm of rain.

The data shows that many places in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts received good rainfall, while widespread rain was also reported from parts of Uttara Kannada district.

Scattered rainfall was recorded in parts of five districts — Shivamogga, Hassan, Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru and Mandya. Moderate rainfall was reported at isolated places in 13 districts, including Mysuru, Tumakuru, Chamarajanagar, Chitradurga, Bengaluru Urban, Vijayanagara, Kolar, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara, Dharwad, Davanagere, Haveri and Ballari.

No rainfall was reported from Gadag, Vijayapura, Raichur, Belagavi, Chikkaballapur, Bagalkote, Yadgir, Koppal, Kalaburagi and Bidar districts.

In Hassan district, Anekere in Channarayapatna taluk recorded 60.3 mm rainfall, Nalluru 43.4 mm, Gowdagere 36.5 mm, D. Kalenahalli 36.5 mm, Dindagodu 30.7 mm and Karagunda in Arasikere taluk 28.5 mm.

In Udupi district, Kucchoor in Karkala taluk received 68 mm rainfall, Hebri 47 mm, Kokkarne in Brahmavar taluk 35 mm and Ajri in Kundapur taluk 28.5 mm.

Uttara Kannada district recorded 60.6 mm rainfall at Manki in Honnavar taluk, 46.5 mm at Kaikini, 37 mm at Kadatoka and 22 mm at Dodmane in Siddapur taluk.

Kodagu district’s Made recorded 50 mm rainfall, while Bilugunda in Virajpet taluk received 26 mm. Mudigere in Chikkamagaluru district recorded 49 mm rainfall.

In Mysuru district, Siddalingapura received 49 mm rainfall, Rammanahalli 41 mm and Alanahalli 31 mm.

Dakshina Kannada district also recorded substantial rainfall, with Guttigaru in Sullia taluk receiving 39.5 mm, Balpa 28.5 mm and Bellandur in Puttur taluk 26 mm.

Other notable rainfall figures include 20 mm at Doddannegere in Chikkanayakanahalli taluk of Tumakuru district, 4.5 mm at Bajagur in Tiptur taluk, 35 mm at Gamanahalli in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district, 23 mm at H Gollahalli in Bengaluru South taluk, 23 mm at Chikkajeni in Hosanagara taluk of Shivamogga district and 20.5 mm at Arehalli in Thirthahalli taluk.

The rainfall data indicates active monsoon conditions across several parts of the state, particularly in coastal and Malnad regions.
