Recalling the incident, Madhav Kripa Grade 12 student, Anshel Sharon said, “While we were travelling on the bus, I noticed a sudden change in the driver's facial expression and realized something was seriously wrong. Without wasting time, I rushed to the driver's seat and applied the hand brake. When I did so, the rear wheel of the bus climbed onto the divider, and to prevent the entire bus from going over it, I steered the vehicle away from the divider. I had some basic knowledge of driving, which helped me react quickly. My immediate thought was to reach the driver's seat and stop the bus. There were many children and students on board, and they were understandably frightened and panicked. The bus had passed the usual school stop, and that was when I realized there was a serious problem with the driver.”
