Chennai, Jun 22: The makers of director Ajay Gnanamuthu’s much-awaited horror thriller Demonte Colony 3, starring Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar, on Monday announced that the film will be released worldwide on September 11.

Production house Passion Studios shared the announcement on its social media platforms, building anticipation for the third instalment of the popular horror franchise.

“Just the thought of this place will give you shivers, thrills and nightmares. Brace yourself for the darkness! The doors of Demonte Colony 3 are about to open. Releasing worldwide on September 11,” the production banner said.

Earlier this year, in April, the makers had confirmed the completion of the film’s shoot.

Producer Sudhan Sundaram said the project had been mounted on a grand scale and praised director Ajay Gnanamuthu for completing the production within the planned schedule.

According to Sundaram, the film was shot across multiple international and domestic locations, including Portugal, Malta, Leh–Ladakh and Chennai.

Despite the extensive shooting schedule and a large cast and crew, the entire production was completed within 80 days.

Sundaram said he had been prepared to extend both the budget and shooting schedule because of the scale of the film, but Gnanamuthu ensured that the project remained on track.

Speaking about the film, Ajay Gnanamuthu said working on the third instalment had been a rewarding experience and credited the production team for making even the most challenging tasks manageable.

He also lauded Arulnithi for his commitment and dedication throughout the filming process.

The director said the Demonte Colony franchise has grown beyond regional and linguistic boundaries and that the third instalment has been designed to appeal to a global audience.

He added that while principal photography has concluded, the post-production team is now focused on delivering an immersive theatrical experience.

Besides Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar, the film also stars Antti Jaaskelainen, Guru Somasundaram, GM Kumar, Muthukumar, SreeKumar, Meenakshi Govindarajan, Kathir, Ashiq Hussain, Sarjano Khalid and Archana Ravichandran in key roles.

The film’s music has been composed by Sam C. S., while cinematography has been handled by Sivakumar Vijayan. Editing duties have been carried out by Kumaresh D.
