Mumbai, Jun 24: Romantic comedy ‘Cocktail 2’ has emerged as a significant commercial success, crossing Rs 106.61 crore in worldwide gross collections and establishing itself as one of the year's biggest hits.

Produced on an estimated budget of Rs 100–110 crore, including all associated costs, the film had already recovered a substantial portion of its investment through the sale of digital, satellite and music rights before its theatrical release. With global box office earnings now surpassing the Rs 100 crore mark, the film has generated additional revenue streams that have comfortably pushed it into the profit zone.

Industry observers have now classified the project as a clear box office hit.

A key factor behind the film’s strong performance has been its positive reception among audiences. Strong word-of-mouth publicity, repeat viewership and its popularity among younger moviegoers have helped sustain its momentum in theatres while broadening its appeal across different markets.

The success of ‘Cocktail 2’ also highlights the enduring popularity of the romantic comedy genre and adds another commercial winner to the portfolio of Maddock Films, which has built a reputation for consistently delivering successful entertainers.

Following this achievement, attention is now shifting to the production house’s upcoming projects. After recently unveiling the first look of ‘Eetha’, anticipation is also building around ‘Prahaar’, as Maddock Films looks to continue its impressive box office run.

The film features Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles and revolves around themes of love, friendship and the complexities of modern relationships.

Written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, and directed by Homi Adajania, the film aims to present a fresh yet nostalgic take on contemporary romance.
