Los Angeles, Jun 28: Hollywood actor Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have reportedly ended their relationship after more than 11 years together, with reports stating that the couple quietly separated late last year.

According to reports, the split was mutual and the couple remains on good terms despite deciding to go their separate ways. Sources close to them said the breakup was not caused by any major disagreement but happened gradually as their lives began moving in different directions.

A friend of the former couple told Daily Mail that McDaid continues to speak highly of Cox and that they share a strong bond.

“Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely amicable. They are great friends and care about each other very much. This was not an ugly split. They had simply reached a point where they were living different lives,” the friend said.

Cox and McDaid began dating in 2013 after being introduced through mutual friends, including singer Ed Sheeran. The couple announced their engagement in 2014 but briefly separated in 2015 before reconnecting in 2016.

Throughout their relationship, the couple maintained a long-distance arrangement, with Cox based in Los Angeles and McDaid living in London. They frequently travelled between the United States and the United Kingdom to spend time together.

Reports said McDaid has since moved on and is reportedly in the early stages of a new relationship, though details about his alleged partner have not been revealed.

The former couple was last seen together during a visit to the US Open in September. A month earlier, they were also spotted with Jennifer Aniston and wellness expert Jim Curtis during a double date in Malibu.

Meanwhile, Cox was recently seen in New York with her Shining Vale co-star Greg Kinnear, though reports clarified that the outing was only platonic.

McDaid, who joined Snow Patrol in 2011, is currently touring with the band across the United Kingdom.
