Chennai, Jun 29: Actor Suriya has officially teamed up with Hombale Films for an upcoming big-budget project to be directed by acclaimed filmmaker T.J. Gnanavel, with the production house making the much-awaited announcement on Monday.
Welcoming the National Award-winning actor to the banner, Hombale Films shared an emotional tribute on its official X handle, celebrating Suriya's remarkable three-decade journey in cinema.
The production house praised the actor for consistently choosing challenging and meaningful roles over conventional commercial success, describing him as an artiste whose performances have reflected authenticity, courage and emotional depth.
"Three decades of unforgettable performances. Countless lives touched through cinema. Now, one of the finest actors of his generation is set to embark on his biggest cinematic journey yet," the production house said while announcing the collaboration under the tagline "Suriya X Hombale."
The announcement came just hours after Hombale Films founder Vijay Kiragandur teased fans with a cryptic social media post, promising that a major reveal was on the way.
"Some beginnings don't make noise. They create echoes that last forever. The next roar won't whisper," Kiragandur had posted, building anticipation ahead of the official unveiling.
Although the production house has not formally revealed the complete cast and technical crew, the announcement tagged director T.J. Gnanavel, confirming that the filmmaker, best known for the critically acclaimed Jai Bhim, will helm the project.
Industry circles also expect actress Kayadu Lohar, who impressed audiences with her performance in Dragon, to play the female lead in the film.
The technical team appears equally impressive. Young composer Sai Abhyankkar is expected to score the film's music, while cinematographer S.R. Kathir is likely to handle the visuals. Acclaimed editor Philomin Raj has also been associated with the project, indicating a strong creative lineup.
The yet-to-be-titled film marks the first collaboration between Suriya and Hombale Films, a production house known for delivering blockbuster pan-Indian films. The announcement has generated immense excitement among fans, who are eagerly awaiting further details about the project, including its title, storyline and release schedule.
