Mangaluru, Jul 6: Vanamahotsava, the festival that celebrates and honours Mother Nature, was celebrated at St Agnes High School. The day was observed to recognize the invaluable gift of nature, which sustains all life on Earth.
The programme was hosted by the students of class 10 B. It began with a meaningful prayer service seeking the blessings of Mother Earth. This was followed by a graceful welcome dance that expressed joy, gratitude, and the spirit of celebration. The welcome speech was delivered by Reeshal, who warmly greeted the headmistress, teachers, staff, and students.

A thought-provoking skit inspired by the Chipko Movement conveyed the importance of protecting trees and preserving nature before it is too late. The performance encouraged everyone to take responsibility for safeguarding the environment for future generations.
The celebration continued with a beautiful dance highlighting the beauty, glory, and importance of nature. The students also shared their thoughts on the environmental challenges we face today and the need to protect our planet for a better future.
Another meaningful skit, set in a classroom environment, emphasized that protecting nature is not only the responsibility of the government but also the duty of every citizen.
The Headmistress, Sr Gloria AC, addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to plant more saplings in their homes and surroundings and to nurture and protect trees.
On behalf of class 10 B, Jasvi proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Headmistress, teachers, staff, and students for their constant encouragement, support, and participation in making the programme a success.
