Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Jul 12: Actor Ram Kapoor has revealed that he was sexually abused during his school years, sharing the deeply personal experience for the first time during the latest episode of the reality show Lock Upp.

Kapoor made the disclosure after being marked "At Risk" in the competition, where contestants were required to reveal a personal secret as part of a challenge to avoid elimination.

The actor said he was 13 years old when the incident occurred and that, until now, only his wife, Gautami, knew about it.

He described the experience as one that had a lasting emotional impact, adding that he had remained silent about it for years. Kapoor said speaking publicly about the incident was difficult but felt it was important to acknowledge his experience.

He also said that both he and the person involved were teenagers at the time. According to Kapoor, the individual later apologised, which he said contributed to his healing process.

Kapoor further said he was unsure how he would explain the public disclosure to his children if they questioned why he had shared it with the country before discussing it with them.

Following the revelation, Kapoor was declared safe from elimination. Contestant Riyaz was eliminated from the show, while Shreya secured immunity for the coming week.
