Dehradun, Jul 20: Indian-American singer Jasmine Sandlas allegedly faced inappropriate behaviour from members of the audience during a concert in Dehradun, with videos of the incident circulating widely on social media and drawing criticism from netizens.
The videos, shared by several users on X (formerly Twitter), show the singer interacting with fans after some members of the crowd pulled her by the hand. Jasmine is seen crouching down to greet fans and accept flowers and gifts when several people appear to reach out and touch her.
Members of her team are seen asking the crowd to move back while attempting to maintain order. After a brief interaction, Jasmine herself is seen requesting fans to step back as security personnel continue to manage the situation.
Social media users alleged that the singer was mobbed and touched inappropriately during the interaction.
One user wrote, "Dhurandhar singer Jasmine Sandlas was mobbed and inappropriately touched by the public. She stepped down a little to accept the roses and greet fans, but some people showed their true colours and touched her inappropriately."
Another user commented that women and artists deserved respect when interacting with audiences, while several others criticised the crowd's behaviour, saying admiration for an artiste should never cross personal boundaries.
Several additional videos shared online showed fans surrounding the singer, with many users questioning why some members of the audience believed they had the right to touch her without consent.
Jasmine has not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
The singer, known for songs such as Yaar Na Miley from Kick and Taras from Munjya, has been in the spotlight recently after lending her voice to tracks including Shararat, Rang De Lal (Oye Oye), Main Aur Tu and Jaiye Sajna from Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
She has been touring several cities across India in recent weeks. Last month, she faced criticism following her Hyderabad concert, where some attendees alleged that she arrived around three hours late and lip-synced during her performance.
Last week, Jasmine announced her engagement during the opening show of her The Dream Girl India Tour in New Delhi. She invited her fiancé, Shekhar Chaudhary, on stage, shared the news with fans, displayed her engagement ring and danced with him to her popular song Laavan.
As part of the tour, Jasmine is scheduled to perform next in Bengaluru and Chandigarh.
