Aanchal Singh reveals mother’s wish inspired her classic red bridal look

Mumbai, Jul 21: Actress Aanchal Singh has shared the heartfelt story behind her bridal look, revealing that her decision to wear a traditional red lehenga was inspired by a cherished wish expressed by her mother years ago.

Aanchal, who recently married long-time partner Mohit Chawla in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai, said her wedding attire was not merely a fashion choice but an emotional tribute to a dream she and her mother had always shared.

Speaking about her bridal vision, the Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein actress said she had always imagined herself as a bride dressed in a timeless shade of red rather than experimenting with multiple colours or modern styles.

Recalling a memorable conversation, Aanchal revealed that after watching Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, her mother had once told her that she hoped to see her as a real bride wearing a beautiful traditional red outfit one day. The remark stayed with her over the years and eventually shaped her wedding-day look.

She clarified that while her bridal attire was not intended to recreate the one seen in the series, the rich red colour her mother admired perfectly matched the vision she had always held for herself.

Aanchal also revealed that designing her bridal lehenga became a deeply personal process. She spent nearly eight hours customising every aspect of the outfit, from altering the embroidery colours and redesigning motifs to refining the borders and incorporating Banarasi fabric into the dupatta. The attention to detail, she said, was aimed at creating an elegant ensemble that would never go out of style.

Her choice of jewellery was equally meaningful. The actress opted for traditional temple jewellery, saying it reflected the bridal identity she had long envisioned. She described the pieces as possessing a timeless charm and understated elegance that complemented the overall look without overwhelming it.

Completing the ensemble, Aanchal styled her hair in a sleek bun adorned with fresh flowers and paired it with a delicate bindi and classic gold jewellery, embracing a graceful and traditional aesthetic.

Reflecting on the experience, she said she never wanted a bridal look designed around fleeting trends but one that would remain beautiful and relevant for years to come. Aanchal added that her meticulous nature drove her to perfect every detail until it matched the image she had imagined.

Following their wedding celebrations in Mumbai, Aanchal and investor Mohit Chawla are set to travel to Europe for their honeymoon.
