Guwahati, Sep 1: Heavy rainfall since Monday night has caused severe waterlogging in several parts of Guwahati, disrupting normal life and affecting vehicular movement across the city.
Several low-lying areas were submerged following continuous downpour, leaving commuters and pedestrians struggling to navigate waterlogged roads. The situation has once again highlighted Guwahati’s recurring drainage and waterlogging issues during periods of heavy rain.

In Barowari, a tree reportedly fell amid the rain, damaging a car and a scooter. The fallen tree also disrupted traffic movement in the area.
The Guwahati Club area witnessed significant waterlogging, with vehicles finding it difficult to pass through the flooded roads.
Residents have once again raised concerns over the city’s persistent waterlogging problem and urged authorities to take effective measures to improve drainage infrastructure and prevent flooding during heavy rainfall.
