Polem, Sep 7: Authorities seized illegal liquor worth approximately Rs 18.72 lakh during a check at the Polem checkpost.
The liquor was allegedly being transported in a truck under the guise of carrying potatoes. During inspection, officials found around 300 boxes of liquor concealed inside the vehicle.
The truck was subsequently seized. However, the driver and cleaner reportedly fled from the spot.
Further investigation is underway to trace those involved in the illegal transportation and ascertain the destination of the liquor consignment.
