Chennai, Oct 23: The makers of director Kishore Rajkumar’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘Coimbatore Mappillaii’, starring Anna Ben and Kishore Rajkumar in the lead roles, have announced that the film will release worldwide on December 24, 2026.

Noise and Grains, known for organising major cultural events in the Indian entertainment industry, has ventured into film production with this project. AGS Cinemas will distribute the film in Tamil Nadu.

The film features an ensemble cast comprising K S Ravikumar, Ponvannan, Viji Chandrasekhar, Sithappu Saravanan, Vinodhini Vaidhyanathan, Lollu Sabha Manohar, CWC Monisha Blessy, WhatsApp Mani and Nakkalites Ranjith.

Speaking about the film, director and lead actor Kishore Rajkumar said the shooting was completed in just 29 days. He noted that while people with heavier builds have often been portrayed in comic roles in films, ‘Coimbatore Mappillaii’ features such a character as the protagonist, a role he is playing himself.

Kishore Rajkumar said the film combines romance and humour to offer a feel-good experience for audiences of all ages. He added that the story explores compatibility in relationships, gives importance to the female lead and aims to provide families with an entertaining cinematic experience. He also expressed gratitude to Noise and Grains for the opportunity to work with the talented Anna Ben.

Praveen Balu has handled cinematography and co-writing, while Ram Pandian is the editor. Both had previously collaborated with Kishore Rajkumar on ‘Naai Sekar’, which featured actor Sathish in the lead role.

Brindha Master has choreographed the film, while Sri Sasikumar K is in charge of art direction. Kiruthikha Sekar has designed the costumes.
