London, Mar 31 (IANS): Whitney Houston's grieving mother, Cissy Houston has broken her silence about her daughter's death saying that she is proud of the late singer.
Cissy made her first public appearance since the Feb 11 tragedy on a chat show with a New Jersey news crew. It will be aired Monday.
The 78-year-old gospel singer admits she has a long way to go before she can get on with her life after losing her daughter.
"I have my moments. I'm not there yet... If I could bring her back I would, but that's not possible. My children are my whole life. She was very special to me... She was my only daughter, and a good one. She looked out for her family," she said.
Despite the drug and alcohol speculation surrounding Houston's final days, Cissy refuses to let the negative talks kill the pride she has for her late daughter.
"I'm very proud of my daughter. She accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she had here... She was a very wonderful person," contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.
