75-year-old Kerala man dies of heart attack during CJP protest in Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct 3: A 75-year-old man from Kerala died after suffering a heart attack while attending a CJP protest at Shivaji Park on Friday evening.

The deceased was identified as Gopalakrishna Subbaiya Pillai, a resident of Dosti West County, B Wing, Thane. He had arrived at Shivaji Park around 4.30 pm to witness the protest.

According to police, Pillai was a Keralite who had come to Mumbai and was staying in Thane. At around 5 pm, while at Dadar, he complained of chest pain.

With the assistance of his friend and police personnel deployed at the protest site, Pillai was taken to Sushrusha Hospital at Shivaji Park for treatment.

Police personnel also attempted to administer CPR to him. However, he succumbed to the heart attack while undergoing treatment at the hospital, police said.
