Mohali, Oct 24: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday filed a chargesheet against six accused in connection with an April 27 blast on the railway line between Shambhu and Rajpura stations in Punjab that killed alleged Khalistani operative Jagroop Singh.
The NIA had registered the case under RC-28/2026/NIA/DLI following the incident, in which Jagroop Singh was killed while allegedly assembling explosives.
The chargesheet was filed before the NIA Special Court in Mohali against Gurjinder Singh alias Beant Baba, Satnam Singh, Pardeep Singh alias Khalsa, Kulvinder Singh alias Bagga, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi and Manjeet Singh.

According to the NIA, the accused have been charged under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Arms Act, the Explosive Substances Act, the Railways Act, the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The agency alleged that the accused were involved in a conspiracy that led to an explosion on the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) railway line at kilometre 1174-5 between Shambhu and Rajpura stations on April 27.
The alleged objective was to further the terror activities of the proscribed terrorist organisation Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), disrupt communal harmony and destabilise the law and order situation in Punjab, the agency said.
The NIA further alleged that the terror syndicate was involved in raising funds for terrorist activities, procuring explosives, arms and ammunition, spreading fear among the public and threatening the country’s integrity, security and sovereignty.
During the investigation, the agency found that the six accused, along with deceased accused Jagroop Singh, were allegedly part of a conspiracy hatched by Pakistan-based Ranjeet Singh alias Neeta, who is affiliated with KZF and has been declared a designated individual terrorist (DIT).
The conspiracy was allegedly aimed at promoting Khalistani ideology and advancing the objectives of the terrorist organisation, the NIA said.
