Mangalore, Jun 3: Activists of Sri Rama Sene on Sunday June 3 allegedly stopped a vehicle said to be transporting beef illegally from Manur near Neermarga to the city.

Acting on prior information, around 10-15 Sri Rama Sene activists followed the Tata Ace vehicle from Padu in Neermarga and forcibly stopped it near Manur by throwing stones at the windshield. They were said to be armed with swords and other weapons.

There were three people including the driver inside the vehicle, identified as Hussain Baikampady, Abdul Kunhi Uppala and driver Umar Jokatte.

The three were allegedly transporting 75 kg of beef hidden among piles of jackfruits.

While Hussain and Abdul Kunhi were arrested by the Mangalore rural police, Umar managed to escape. Their vehicle and the beef were also seized.

It is said that the trio were bringing beef from a house belonging to a certain Hussainar.

A case has been registered in Mangalore rural police station.

Neither pork or beef is compulsory for christianity or Islam, when our parents were young, in 70's and 60's eating meat was a privilege and vegetarinian was mostly feasible food due to the then times, i remember father said that on 7 or 8 times a year chicken was cooked that was a feast

    Gerald,

Too intelligent of you to have noticed 'plagiarizing' in one of my posts. I can google-search for just one sentence from Sejal Shah's post and find out from where he copied the literature and report his offence but my motives are not to trick people.

What baffles me is that this man did not worry about raw-material drain to Britain, Kohinoor in the Queen's crown, financial burden on India through allowing high positions to British officers but only Beef happen to be his concern.

Hypocrite ! Trying to teach us that deterioration of agriculture in India is caused by killing cows whereas cows were never used to till the land ! Had no answer why Karnataka did not fare well in agriculture ! Smart Gujju Yeah !

Really senseless on the part who ignore the truth when it is already there in thier own scriptures. I dont understand why people also think in the same way for the plants too. It too feels pain. Plz also stop this cruel act. So innocent are these. Punish those who are vegetarian. Does this make sense? .please also stop those who kill the chicken alive and drink their blood in one of the rituals of bhootha kola. brother's just look at your teeths. It wil speak as well as your scriptures. Eat what is lawful to you. Not all the animals. We are not permitted to eat flesh of tiger or elephant. Have knowledge fully and then comment.

Its like the saying goes "water water everywhere not a to drink"..

See the article below.. Its a mockery of our system and goes to show how stupid and idiotic our state policies can be.. SRS, read the article and go hang yourselves

    http://www.indianexpress.com/news/india-to-become-largest-beef-exporter/934186/

India is likely to become the world's largest beef (buffalo meat) exporter by 2013 as there is consistent demand from price sensitive importers, primarily in Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa, USDA has said.

"Given India's explosive export growth, India is likely to become the world's largest beef (buffalo meat) exporter by 2013, if not sooner," United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) said in its latest report.

Export growth is largely on account of consistent demand from price sensitive importers, primarily in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa. As a result, the number of export production units is increasing to meet growing export demand for low-cost Indian buffalo meat, it added.

    Sejal Shah,

Hitler's eating/abstaining from beef or being nonalcoholic did not make him famous but his cruelty did.

The British left us 65 years back and we are still cribbing over what they did ? Should we not blame our grand parents for our state today than to the British ? Or, should we not blame the kings who surrendered to the British instead of fighting unitedly ? Or, those who invaded India before the British ?

You have a free democratic nation in your hands - please explain what you did for those who are lower in social status. Let us talk of today ! Beef consumption is one item of many social problems ! A Brahmin Governor or a Hindu President could not impose Anti-cow-slaughter bill because they know that economically low class people can afford only Beef not other meat products !

Please note Beef is not only cow's meat but bull/buffalo too included. If you people have a different definition for each animal, that is not my problem !

I have the few questions to opposing team of cow slaughtering who are those known as the bajrangis, sena, sangha, jagarana etc of sanghaprivar inspirited people, who are those people belong to any organizations whatever name it (their organization) is, Questions 1)Who is given the police department’s authority to you people.? 2) If you are not eating the beef, that is up to you. But why you are interfering the others freedom of eating. Although there are many solid evidence about you people also consuming (eating) the beef. You people have eating it, while drink your gangasara (wine.) Here (in gulf countries) some people (they are Hindus only) telling their previous experience in India, while they have worked in wine shop, that you people asking the beef in wine shop, otherwise sending the boy for (buying the cooked beef parcel) from beef availability restaurants. After that while eating this beef, asking the boy that ‘from which restaurant you brought it’? and again you people were discussing,”once we will attack there after eating there, for big amount of the bill”. They say we knew these are our bajrangi customers only. There are many cases like you eaten the beef in Muslims hotels and while paying the bill simply started to quarrelling and attacking for selling the beef dish. Which is the intension only because of escaping from paying bill amount? 3) If any article is harm certain community and if they protesting for it… then you people shouting, Oh this protest against Freedom Expression. Then why you were not thinking you’re attacking against freedom of eating. Is it? 4) As per mythology only the cow is holy for you, then you are stopping the meat of bull, buffalo etc. buffalo (KHONA) is killing (giving Bali) in front of so called God & Goddesses in front of DEVI like KHALI,MAHAKHALI etc. which is this system is existing in our Karnataka only, especially in north Karnataka. If you are sincere in this regard, then why not attacking such a tradition of north Karnataka.

Although I agree the ride of police department on beef stalls, which is running without license, unhygienic and buying and selling robbery animals. It should be stop and restrict by the law. I have respect the Indian Constitution so that, I say this should control by concerned department only any social or criminal organizations should not have any attacking role in this regard. (Except they and the media can give only the awareness and awaking people by focusing such a shops or rackets.) if someone attacking means they don’t respect the Indian Law i.e. the Indian Constitution. For them we can say Antinational. (Deshadrohi.)

If daijiworld is giving the chance to this debate and co-operating with publishing this views...as a comments, as a separate article or face to face etc for their readers. Then the more and more questions will be… now my time is not permissible to continue it, so let me get some opposing or supporting answers from our matured team o

    Mr. Ganesh Rao,

I am not confused the 'Green Revolution' that started much after British' leaving India, made Punjab the 'Wheat Bowl of India' due to HYV seeds and use of machinery in agriculture.

If the cow had that power and with protectors like SNS, Karnataka should have been 'Rice Bowl of India' whereas we see only draught reports. We are still using animals for tilling - tractor is a distant dream.

If you elaborate which part of my post is confusing, I can explain you in detail.

    Plagiarizing is a punishable act.

Going by your reasoning, Karnataka would have been rice bowl of India (at par with Punjab being wheat bowl of India) contrary to being draught hit because there are volunteers like SNS to protect the cow.

People of Gujarat are majority vegeterians. Does it mean they involve in agriculture ? No ! Gujarat is famous for industry.

You are free to draw comparisons but be logical.

    Ms.Maria Dmello, Mumbai

Robert Clive – the so called Founder of the British Empire in India who was twice the Governor of Bengal too – on entering India was astonished and amazed to see the success of the agricultural system here. He went on researching the reasons for the success of the Indian agriculture and discovered the root – The Holy Indian Cow. The entire hindu life style revolved around this animal, not just religiously, but socially. Cow was an integral part of a Hindu family as was any other human member in the family. He even found that in many places the total number of cattle was more than the number of humans living there.
Ok, so he decided, to break the backbone of agriculture in India – the holy cows have to be targeted. And thus was opened the first slaughterhouse of cows in India in 1760 by Robert Clive at Kolkata. It had a capacity to kill 30,000 cows per day. And anyone can guess within a year’s time how many cows would have been killed. And within a century India had very little cattle left to sustain its agricultural needs. And Britain as an alternative started offering artificial manure, and in this manner urea, phosphate etc started getting imported from England. Indian agriculture had started becoming dependent on west invented artificial products and was forced to give up home grown natural practices.
Guess what, till 1760 most of India had banned not only cow slaughter, but also prostitution and drinking wine was banned as well. Robert Clive made all three legal and removed the ban.Now the British had hit two birds with a single stone by this move. The first was to break the backbone of the Indian agriculture ie making cattle not available for agriculture. And the second?

Well, obviously Hindus did not work as butchers at the slaughter houses opened by the British. And of course the British were well known for their divide and rule policies which they practiced throughout their colonial kingdoms then. So what did they do? Well, they hire

Babur, who invaded India all the way from Kabul, despite being an orthodox Muslim had banned Cow Slaughter in his empire. All successive Mughal Emperors – Humayun, Akbar, Shah Jahan, Jehangir, Aurangazeb, and then even Ahmad Shah had banned Cow Slaughter in their kingdoms. Hyder Ali and Tippu Sultan who ruled the Mysore State in the present day Karnataka had made cow slaughter and beef eating a punishable offence and the crime would be punished by cutting off the hands of the person who committed the crime!

If they have your permission kindly appoint them as police men and ask your existing police force to quit. If they don’t have your permission tell us why they are not arrested and what action are you going to take.

Mr. Singh also try to find out under whose instructions does this outfit operate and why do they antagonize only minorities.

Mangalore by and large has been very peaceful under your tenure but these incidents bring about communal tensions.

Also what is the proof to the public of that they carried swords? Media can say anything unless you have seen it for yourself. Also just for public interests, major bars in DK are mixing beef with pork which should be stopped. Dont hurt the sentiments of the hindus just because you cant afford pork when beef is cheaper. Thats a rude attitude of the bar owners. Jai Bajarag Dala Jai Rama Sene.

The Rama Sena should have informed the police in advance if they had prior information.Let the law take its own course. The law never gives permission to take in their own hands. If they damage the vehicle, threatens the occupants with illegal weapons it will be more big offence than what they are trying to stop. The police commissioner should look into this matter stop this happen again.

yes good catch for BD and other sene.
They will have a great feast with that meat for several days. May be Dines P. and cronies will also join the party. Alcohol is free - it will be supplied by BJP Excise minister - he has experience in supplying for Resort parties/rave parties etc.

One thing I donot understand is - if I can buy BEEF in Bangalore and other places - why it is not allowed in some other places in Karnataka? Why this dual policy? There also may be Ministers want to make money - by selling beef illegally at higher price - right?

I think many of the hindus eat mutton - that is meat of goats/sheep/lambs!!! in hotels and other eateries.

Are they assured of getting mutton? I am sure it is mixed. I hope Dinesh and cronies stop eating from today!!!! The so called vegetarian butter (made out of Milk from cows etc) - Bangalore 9 - showed on TV - how this butter is made - and it is said to be very tasty - from the hindu buyers.

And they trouble people who eat or want to eat beef - who according to law have the right to eat anything they choose.

If beef trade is made legal, then all hygene aspect would be taken care of and beef traders would invest. Since there is lots of phobia, uncertainity no one is ready to ivest or take a chance... Make it legal and you would find good quality frozen beef in freezers and freezer vehicles reaching your door step...By the way these SRS and BD are the major consumers of beef. Since anti cow slaughter has not become a law and it remained as bill, no law enforcing agency can stop it until it becomes a offence punishable by law...Useless people with useless mind...

It is indeed shamefull that a democratic country like India uses government institutions to harass minorites in the name of religion to appease the majority community. Beef is eaten all over the world and it is not a drug or alcohol that needs to be controlled. Eating and transporting beef has become a crime now thanks to the religious fanatics. Why not use the same criteria for goats, sheep, chicken, fish as they are have life. Close down all restaurants, shops where they sell or trade in any livestock. Go back to the stone ages.
