Beltangady: Twenty from North India Participate in Workshop on SHG

Beltangady, Aug 9: “Self-help groups should make optimum use of the latest technology. It will enable them to have greater control when taking up profitable ventures”, said Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra.

Dr D Veerendra Heggade was speaking after inaugurating a five-day workshop on self-help groups and small scale industries, organized under the aegis of Bankers’ Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Lucknow and Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP).

NABARD general manager R Venkataswamy was the chief guest.

BIRD chief executive officer D Nageshwar Rao, Srinivasan and SKDRDP human resources development director Manorama Bhat was present.

Twenty representatives of voluntary service organizations from West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, New Delhi and Odisha are participating in the workshop.

The representatives will study the economic activities of self-help groups promoted by Pragatibandhu under SKDRDP.
