Bhatkal: Police Head Constable Sudheer Naik (48) Passes Away

Bhatkal, Aug 11: Sudheer Naik (48), head constable of Bhatkal town police station, passed away on Thursday, August 9 at 5 pm following a heart attack while on duty. He had been working in Bhatkal over the past seven years.

Naik was very well known in Bhatkal as a versatile sportsman and had a keen interest in cricket and football. He was a member of the Azad sports club and Bifa sports club. He also played volleyball in the Chetan team.

When his body was brought to the government hospital, the sports members of all the clubs gathered to pay their respects. Later on, his body was taken to the Bhatkal police ground where he was saluted. His body was then taken to Karwar, his native place.

Bhatkal CPI Shiv Prakash , PSI Suresh Naik and other police officers were present during his last rites.

The sad demise of Sudheer Naik has deeply saddened his entire sports community.
