Melissa Totten Wows Madonna Fans

Gurgaon, Aug 20 (IANS): She is Madonna's impersonator, but Melissa Totten created the same magic by singing and performing on the pop diva's hit numbers - "Papa don't preach" and "Music" - at a glitzy show here.

Dressed in a short black dress, the forty-plus singer made a dramatic entry Sunday evening. Instead of appearing on the stage directly, she decided to walk through the crowd to reach the dais, which was kept small and simple.

As part of Black Dog's easy evenings concert "Madonna Forever", Totten created the right mood by involving the crowd. She came down from the stage with the dancers and prompted everyone to stand up and shake a leg with her.

If that was not enough, Melissa added desi flavour by mixing songs like "Jai ho" and "Mundiya tu bachke rahi" with English songs and it had an electrifying impact.

The 90-minute-performance required frequent costume change, but it was made sure that the stage was not left empty for even a minute and the disco-jockeys kept the heat bars high with good music.

The show was closed with a soulful performance on Madonna's song "Like a prayer".

Totten is here on a seven-city-tour, which started in Goa Aug 17, followed by her Delhi show, and now she will move to Shillong, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Vizag and a last performance in Hyderabad Aug 31.
