Media Release

Mangalore, Aug 27:
Nobby Nazareth, founder, chairman and managing director, Evaluationz India, Bangalore, India gave an intriguing talk on ‘Entrepreneurship: Challenges and opportunities’ to the MBA students at AIMIT, St Aloysius College, Mangalore.

With over 23 years of HR experience both in India and overseas, Nobby has been closely involved in the executive search practice in India for the last decade.

He began his talk by asking the students about their interests and aspirations. Nobby highlighted on the structured deficiencies that plague India and also said that we can beat them out and keep the Indian growth story intact.

The speaker also shared his experience of being an entrepreneur himself for almost a decade. He explained to the budding entrepreneurs the constraints he faced as he started up his business. “Problems provide opportunities and help to build businesses”, he said.

“I have seen more failures than successes, more problems than solutions”, said Nobby. “Those problems themselves were opportunities”, he added. He touched upon the essentials of entrepreneurship. He gave insights on what really matters for an entrepreneur and what does not matter. “Make business your hobby”, echoed Nobby. “All hobbies cannot be turned into businesses, we have to see how it works and if it’s worthwhile to take it as a business idea”, he further added.

He also said, “Entrepreneurs should be passionate and dispassionate. He should be passionate about business and impassionate about emotions”. Emotions should not come in the way of your goal or passion” he cautioned. He spoke about the law of impermanence substantiating that things in this world do not stay permanent at a particular point of time. One of the students also raised a query on what is the ideal time to start up a business. To this he answered saying “I do not know”.

He concluded his speech with these words, “No shortcuts, but only smart work”.

Reshma Fernandes welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest, while Clinton Mascarenhas concluded the session with vote of thanks.

Fr Oswald Mascarenhas welcomed the guest with flowers and Fr Denzil Lobo presented a memento to Nobby Nazareth.

MBA dean Dr Rowena Wright, staff coordinator Pratibha Shetty, MBA faculty members and students were present.

Dear Nobby, thrilled to see you conducting the workshop.I am sure you have a wealth of knowledge and expertise to share.Ideas can be life changing and sometimes what we need is a new idea to start a vast empire. “I have seen more failures than successes, more problems than solutions” is an excellent quote but success is how high you bounce after hitting the rock bottom and you have taken a leap after the falls. Good luck for your continued success as a wonderful person like you deserves the best.
