Nativity : Kuwait Pangala Association

Kuwait, Sep 16: Kuwait Pangla Association (KPA) celebrated the FeastoftheNativity oftheBlessedVirginMary on 14th September 2012 at the Indian Public School Auditorium, Salmiya, Kuwait with sense of zeal. Infant Mother Mary’s statue was well decorated with jasmine flowers brought all the way from Pangla.

It was also the day for Pangalites in Kuwait to choose their new head of the association and new committee for year 2013 – 2014 as the current committee was finishing their tenure. Pangalites in Kuwait could not have asked for a better day than this as most the Pangalites were gathered under roof to celebrateMonti Fest and feeling very nostalgic.











































The event was divided in to two parts, AGM and Mother Mary’s Birthday Celebration.
The program started with a warm welcome and prayer by our own compare Albert Quadras.This was followed by AGM.

Manoj Rego, KPA Secretary for year 2011-2012 read the detailed report of various KPA activities during their tenure. Rashmi D’mellow read the new drafted KPA constitution.
Albert Quadras conducted the procedure of forming the new committee for year 2012 – 2013. All the positions wereunanimouschosen.

Outgoing President Jerald Quadras expressed his heartfelt gratitudeto all KPA members for extending their whole hearted supporting during his tenure as president.  He wished the new committee all the very best.

The second and main program kick started and a welcome dance by Viola Martis and bringingthe new harvest (rice grain – konshi) by newly wedded couple Floyd and Smitha Sequeria and handed over to a Hilda Cornelio and then offered to Mother Mary in reverence.The konshi was brought from all the way from Pangla a day before the event.
All children were given a plate of flowers to venerate our beloved Mother Mary.  Adults and children together sung beautiful Konkani hymns while honoring our beloved mother.
All children were given a piece of sugarcane and sweets to mark and to increase their love for our beloved Mother Mary.

Mario Cornelio took over from Albert Quadras to compate the remaining program.
Viola Martis enthralled the audience with her yet another spectacular dance. Keith &KayceD’Souzasung a beautiful English song.  There were many games for children which was thoroughly enjoyed by each one and won many prizes. DJ David provided excellent music which brought everybody to the floor and had loads of fun.

It was lunch time;George D’Souzasaid the grace before meal. A delicious traditional lunch was served in banana leaf with various vegetariandishes, fish curry and sweet (oorn)

This followed with the last game that was Housie Housie.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Arun Noronha. The program was able compared by our own Albert Quadras and Wilson Cornelio.
