Patna, Sep 25 (IANS): The Tatas-led Indian Hotels Company, which operates the Taj brand, is setting up a five-star hotel here, the first of its kind in the Bihar capital, a top state government official said Tuesday.

The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) has cleared the Taj Group's proposal to build a five-star hotel in Patna, Principal Secretary for Industries Afzal Amanullah said.

According to him, the proposal was mooted by Unique Property, a company which will collaborate with Indian Hotels for the project.

"The government has approved the proposal. It is for the group to search for the seven acres of land it requires to construct the property," Amanullah said.
