Jerimeri : Jan Chetana Celebrates Third Anniversary

Mumbai, Oct 10: “Jan Chetana” ( Jerimeri ) felicitated Mr. Walter D’Souza and Mrs. Jeans M. Gomes, during their 3rd Annual Day Celebrations, held at Eden Garden Quadrangle Jerimeri, on 7th October 2012 at 7.30 p.m.
 
‘Jan Chetana’ is an NGO for poor slum people in the area of Asalfa, Jerimeri, Sakinaka, Andheri East, Mumbai, to promote health and education, having network with Mumbadevi hospital, Nirmay Charitable Trust, Don Bosc etc.  The trust has organized 20 medical camps, free eye check up camps, Dental treatments and Blood Check up camps for poor people, besides arranging 5 career guidance programs and Free Computer Course for 25 less fortunate children.  It’s dance training section called Nakshatra Dance Group had also organized a State Level Dance Competition at St. Jude High School during 2011.  The trust has initiated minority survey for 2010-11 in the month of February 2012.
 






















On this occasion two prominent personalities of Kurla Ward Mrs. Jeans M. Gomes & Mr. Walter D’Souza were felicitated and honoured for their selfless service in and around kurla.  Mrs. Jeans M. Gomes, the Principal of Michael College of Arts, Commerce and Science Kurla, known for her excellence in the field of education, was also recently honoured by the Honorable President of India Pranab Mukharjee with a Best Teacher Award for the year 2011-12.   Mr. Walter D’Souza a social worker and noble person who was recently recognized for his noble charitable work with an award of “International Man of the Year” by Thai Kannada Balaga Thailand.
 
The function began with a Prayer dance by Suhasini a student of Eden High School, followed be welcome address by Irfan kawchali and Leo Fernandes, welcoming the Chief Guest V.P.Lobo and other guests of honour Fr. John Almeida, Ravi Nair and Moses Gomes and several others with a flower bouquets by Trustee members like Anacin, Augustene, Felix D’Sa, Om Prakash Paasi and Irfan Kawachali.
 
The Chief Guest V.P.Lobo Candled the Lamp followed by other guests and dignitaries on the dias. Variety entertainment was performed by various groups trained by ‘Nakshatra Group, Tushar Bangera Group, Mimicry Artists Dilip Kedar, Anil and little children.
 
Vote of thanks was proposed by the trustee Om Prakash  and  the entire function was anchored by Irfan Kawachali.  The programme was concluded with a Dinner.
