Mangalore, Nov 3: District commissioner Dr K Chennappa Gowda said that strict actions would be carried out against traders selling plastics in the city.

Raids will be conducted by a team headed by corporation heads, he stated.

"Primarily in city limits, use and trading of plastic glasses, plastic tumblers, plastic carry bags are prohibited. Stringent notice has been given to the traders to not sell plastics and awareness programmes will be conducted in malls", said Gowda.

Intead of plastic items, the DC has requested the public to make use of cloth bags, jute bags and rexin bags.

For a few days, various advisory and awareness programmes will be conducted across the city and later a fine will be imposed on the use of plastics, he added.

The DC has already asked municipal councillors to advice people to stop using plastic carry bags and other plastic materials.

A complete ban on plastics will soon be imposed in Dakshina Kannada district said a press release by the district administration.

No body is throwing News Papers.WHY? Because if we Sell those Paper to Paperwala or Radhiwala we get money.Like this ,allow Plastics to use and MCC must open Outlets to Collect Plastics for money. And those Plastics they must Dispose to Those persons who use for Re cycle Purpose. That time no Body will Throw Plastics.
