Woman Air Force Officer Commits Suicide in Jodhpur


Jaipur, Nov 28 (IANS): A woman officer of the Indian Air Force (IAF) committed suicide in her home in Jodhpur Wednesday, police said.

Squadron leader Anandita Das, 29, from West Bengal was found hanging by the ceiling at her home in Jodhpur, about 340 km from here, early Wednesday. Das was commissioned as an officer in 2006. Her husband is also an air force officer and posted in Jodhpur.

The couple got married in 2008.

"Her body has been sent for post mortem. The air force has assured us full cooperation in the investigations," said a police official.

"The air force has ordered a enquiry into the incident," defence ministry spokesperson S.D. Goswami told IANS on phone.
