When he entered Jerusalem, they hailed him with palms. A few days later they nailed him to a cross. Two events on a Sunday with two names but featuring the same Lord and the same fickle crowd. A day of both joy and sorrow. However, Palm Sunday and the events of Holy Week are not, primarily, stories of violence and humiliation, rather events that reveal to us God's love and humility, wherein Jesus willingly lowered himself in his birth, in his ministry, in his death. He lowered himself to the dust from which the First Adam had been made–indeed humility comes from the word "humus". The Lord who allowed himself to be sold for thirty pieces of silver invites us to share his glory with him. May he give us all the grace to walk on his road to glory, the royal road of the cross. Wish you all a a grace-filled Holy Week and the Joy of Easter
