Belthangady: SCC day celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Madyantar

Belthangady, Jun 5: Small Christian Community (SCC) day and parish patron feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus was meaningfully celebrated at Madanthyar church on June 2, morning at 9 am.

Denis Moras Prabhu, vicar general of Mangalore diocese Celebrated the Holy Mass along with the parish priest Fr. Lawrence Mascarenhas, assistant parish priest Fr Clifford pinto and 9 guest priests. The Holy Bible was brought in procession by Philomena Gonsalves, SCC coordinator of the parish.

 

Cultural programme based on community and SCCs was staged by the youth and children. Soon after the cultural programme stage programme was organized. Parish priest welcomed the gathering. Blany D’souza the secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council read out the names of 75 leaders who promoted SCCs were honored by the Parish priest and the chief guest Fr. Arun Lobo, SCCs coordinator, Belthangady deanery.

George D’souza secretary of Parish Pastoral Council of Cordel church shared his experience regarding SCC. Professor Leo  Principle of St Philomena college, Puttur mastered the ceremony,  Dr JR Serra, vice president of Parish Pastoral Council proposed the vote of thanks, Fr Clifford Pinto, assistant Parish Priest read out the names of the sponcerers and Fr Cyprian Fernandes invoked Gods blessings before meals.

More than 2000 people were present and enjoyed the delicious meals prepared by the parishioners. Parish council made arrangements to supply the food packets to all those who could not attend due to old age and sickness.
