Gov inaugurates Mumbai Circuit Bench of the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity

Mumbai Aug 31: The Governor of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayananon inaugurated the newly created Mumbai Circuit Bench of the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity at a function held at Sahyadri State Guest House.

Chairperson of the Tribunal Justice (retd) M. Karpaga Vinayagam, Members of the Tribunal, Chairman of Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission V P Raja and others were present on the occasion. 

The Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, which hears cases challenging the verdicts of State Electricity Regulatory Commissions, has been created in Mumbai to save the trouble of consumers, counsels and litigants in the power sector to visit New Delhi for hearing. The Government of India has already created two such Circuit Benches in Chennai and Kolkata.
