Mangalore, May 22:
The second round of pulse polio drive in the district saw a turn-out of 1,64,881 children out of 1,83,030 targeted, recording a success of 90.08 per cent, here on Sunday May 21.

Speaking to reporters, district health and family welfare officer Dr H Jagannath informed that the rest of the children will be vaccinated over the next three days to ensure that no child below the age of five years is left out.
                                                                               
As many as 3,684 vaccinators, including anganwadi workers took part in the drive. There were 184 supervisors to oversee the administration of polio drops. The drive was conducted in 921 booths in various parts of the district. Around 185 vehicles were provided to the health workers for the purpose.

Dr Jagannath said that arrangements had been made in bus and railway stations and at Bajpe airport to administer polio drops to children.
