Mangalore, Mar 17: The car that was involved in an accident at Ladyhill on Monday March 17 was driven by a minor, police sources said.

It had been earlier said that the Maruti Ritz car that rammed into an electric pole reportedly belonged to a former state minister, but the police did not confirm the same.

The Maruti Ritz car, with registeration number KA 14 1222, was being driven by Anoop (17), son of Mohan Kumar. He was driving without a licence.

The car went out of control and drove on to the footpath before smashing into the electric pole.

The front portion of the car was completely damaged, and the electric pole was dislocated.

Luckily, no injuries were reported.

Including Anoop, there were three or four other persons in the car. All of them escaped from the spot soon after the accident.

Police sources said that Anoop and his father were fined and no case was registered. Mohan Kumar agreed to pay for the damage caused, police said.

No. The father of the boy is a very learned man, a professor in one of the very prestigious institutions in Surathkal. What lessons can students learn from a man who allows his son to drive without license. I wonder how the police left him Scot free.

Why no case was registered, is he a godfather, put all of them behind the bars. See the minor does not get license for life time. People around to keep a watch and see that he does not get licence. Just imagine if a life was lost instead of pole what a disaster it would have been, so punishment should be given, no money please.

Thank HIM, lucky escape for both car occupants and pedestrians!!

As the occupants vanished after the collision in all probability, the occupants were under the influence of "Somrasa" on the colorful occasion of Holi!!!

In a lighter vein, on the occasion of Holi:

"Daru Ki Khushbu, Beer Ki Mithas
Ganje Ki Roti, Charas Ka Saag
Bhaang Ke Pakode, Afeem Ka Pyaar
Mubarak Ho Aapko Holi Ka Tyohaar!"

Fun aside, Thank God, no injuries to anyone inside the vehicle.
Let us learn to go slow / steady on roads to avoid such incidents and accidents.

    Prabhumaam,

In US they mix up to 10-15% Ethanol(Alcohol) to Petrol depending upon crude prices....

In Brazil and South America instead of Petrol they use Ethanol(Alcohol) only....Whisky is about 36% alcohol...may be this car was running with 99% alcohol...hence was high...
