No way to catch other than metal detectors before leaving the airport.People have become too smart and cunning in using their mind to bring gold illegally to India.Hope our customs too upgrade their ways and means to catch all type of illegal gold entry. All the best.Thanq.

Perhaps people earn more here than in hard work elsewhere. That's why more & more insane unemployed Kasaragod guys take this risky work. God only should change the mind of 'Gods own country people'.

Mangalore Intl. Airport customs officials should be rewarded/granted some incentives by way of special Bonus or certain percentage of commission on every successful operation.

It is not because of Manglore Custom officers work, it is because of Secret Information from the Counterparts of Dubai Customs. It is an international rule to thwart the smuggling.

Other Airports like Mumbai do not X-Ray every baggage that is brought in. Mangalore Airport is not busy and therefore the customs screen everybody's luggage. These people should be taught what X-Rays can do.

We always read about GOLD capture at Mangalore airport. What about other airports? Don't they find smuggled gold there? or people do not smuggle there?

Or is it 'aage se chuha na jaaye, piche se haathi nikal jaaye'.

Daal mein kuch Kala. These are just petty smuglers and all big fish still slip away from same door.
Don't underestimate Kasargod (Re)public. They are not fools just to come and get caught so many of them one after another. They definatley do are in touch with thier counterparts what is happening at Mangalore airport. Our customs officials have not become so honest overnight. This is just another way of making public and (big)smuglers happy
