Sea water even reached the road at Kotekar area.  Heavy rains coupled with storm winds created havoc in the coastal areas.  Houses of Bashir, Ayisha, Abubakkar, Hasanabba, Ammabba which had been partially damaged earlier, have now completely been engulfed by the sea.  So too houses of Anandi Kotian, Jayasheela, Madhav Bangera at Mogaveerapatna have been washed out.

The residents of these houses and their belongings have been shirted to a local school building where a rice gruel centre has been opened.

The people offered common prayer at Vyaghra Chamundeshwari Temple at Ullal on Sunday to prevail peace in the sea.  The prayer session was led by Sadanand Bangera, president of Mogaveera Association.
