Representatives from varied industries — software , hospitality, shopping malls, places of religious worship, factories — were asked to step up security with immediate effect.
The software industry was asked to look into character and antecedents check of employees as they hire a large number of people for their BPO operations.
Police commissioner N Achyut Rao asked the gathering to look into HR issues like disgruntled employees and employees who might have faked certificates to procure the job and to screen the movement of visitors into their complexes.
“These are preventive measures we must inculcate in the wake of the Mumbai blasts’ ’ said a police officer.
Says BMP special commissioner Gaurav Gupta, “We will come up with access control at public places like markets, heritage areas, cinema halls, among others. This is to monitor public movement where large numbers of people congregate.”
