Mangalore, Jul 31: North Zone Congress committee staged protest in front of the Town Hall here on Monday July 31 morning.
The leaders accused the state government of promoting corruption instead of good governance. "The chief minister himself has been accused of receiving Rs 150 crore from mine owners. Several ministers too have been named in various scandals. The government is busy solving its own coalition problems while the people of the state are facing various problems," blamed former state minister Ramanath Rai.
He blamed the government for failing to take any preventive action to face Chicken Gunya which has been causing havoc in the state particularly in the northern districts. "This is an all-round failure of government. So the CM must resign.
Mayor K Ashraf, Congress North Zone president Suresh Ballal, former deputy mayor Lancelot Pinto and others were present on the occasion.
