Colombo, Aug 27: India had a mixed day in shooting at the South Asian Games on Saturday, claiming the men's individual and team gold in Rifle 3 Position while being upstaged by Pakistan in both categories of 25mt standard pistol.

India, who had fielded their second choice shooters, finished with an impressive haul of 18 gold, 10 silver and 5 bronze medals on the concluding day of the discipline today.

Imran Khan and Manoj Kumar won the individual gold and silver medals respectively in the Rifle 3 position and then paired with Sushil Ghaley to clinch the team gold as well, making up to an extent for the loss to Pakistan in the men's 50m Rifle 3 Position earlier.

Imran shot 98, 98, 97 and 99 in prone to tally an impressive 390. In standing, he finished with a score of 370 (96, 96, 93 and 94) while the kneeling position saw him register a score of 95, 95, 93 and 94 for a winning total of 1241 at the Sri Lanka Navy base Range in Welisara.

Manoj Kumar aggregated 1228 while the bronze medal winner -- Mangala Samarakoon of Sri Lanka -- tallied 1219.4.

The team event saw the Indians set a new Games record with a score of 3407, erasing their earlier mark of 3405 achieved in the 2004 Games in Islamabad.

Imran shot 1146 while Manoj fired 1138 and Sushil 1123.

Pakistan won the silver through Siddique Umar (1122), Muhammad Ayaz Tahir (1119) and Muhammad Mushtaq (1106), who aggregated 3347.

Five golds for Indian judokas

Putting up an impressive performance, Indian judokas bagged five out of the six gold medals on offer in the discipline at the South Asian Games here today.

Pakistan could lay their hand on the only remaining gold with Akhtar Saeed winning in the 81kg weight category.

India's Shamsher Singh won the silver and Afghanistan's Mangal Mahmood Shah won the bronze.

India also bagged one silver and six bronze medals in the competition.

Fetching India gold medals were Anil Kumar (90kg) and Solanki Yashpal (100kg) in men's section and Chongtham Ch. Jina (70 kg), L Brojeshori Devi (57kg) and Garima Chaudhary (63 kg) in women's section.
