Mumbai, Sep 1: “When education is increased humility vanished. Health deteriorated with excessive work. Wealth increased but culture was
forgotten. Man can fly like a bird and swim like a fish. It has become difficult to remain on earth as a human being. Those who stick to truth are dying and those who have indulged in injustice are eating rice”, opined senior author of the land Ambathanaya Mudradi.

He was speaking during the centenary celebrations of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, release of books and a discussion programme held by the
Kannada department of Mumbai university under the aegis of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Maharastra unit at the Mumbai university Western
Region Instrumentation Center hall at Santacruz (E) recently.

It is a tragedy that Kannada is in danger in Karnataka due to people who have migrated from other states. However it is heartening that Kannadigas living in Mumbai with their love of Kannada have indulged in making it grow," he said.

"Is is normal that a worker or the one who is leading an organization faces criticism. The Kannadigas in Maharastra are not content with
literature alone. They are giving importance to Art and Yakshagana and serving the language," said H B L Rao, president of Kannada Sahitya
Parishat Maharastra unit.

Dr G V Kulkarni spoke saying that none of the matters concerning the Parishat come to mind as the Parishat has become niggling. He recollected how well the Parishat was working during the times of Harikrishna Punarooru.
