Mumbai, Sep 3: Moodbidri Mahaveera College Old students Association meet was held in Peninsula Grand Hotel in Sakinaka, Anderi (E) recently.

Old Student Association president and Alvas Education Institution president Dr Mohan M Alva presided on this occasion.

Karnataka state minister, president of Mahaveera College Governing Council K Abhayachandra Jain, Organic Industries Limited president Ananda Shetty and Sukumar Rao were also present.

Dr Mohan Alva briefing about Moodbidri Mahaveer College's Golden Jubilee celebration, which will be celebrated at the end of January in 2015, said, "The college has preserved its exetensivity by the support of Dr T M A Pai, S N Moodbidri, G V Pai, M K Anatharaj, S D Samrajya, and other members and donors. Resources are very essential for the development and activeness of the college. Wishes from well wishers, support from donors, specially love from the local people towards the institution is essential. To celebrate this golden jubilee with gaiety, we need to form an Old Students Association in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chickmagalur-Shimoga and also in the Gulf countries.

Abayachandra Jain said, "Thinking on the betterment of students, with unselfish contribution of many, today, Mahaveer College girls and boys hostel, meter sports track, sports ground, SN Moodbidri Polytechic Department, A J Soans ITI and M K Anatharaj School of Physical Education were founded. From Om institution college has secured first grade award. Now to celebrate this golden Jubilee, the college administration, principal, staff, parents and the Old Student association and other committees have been planned for various projects. Blue print of new building with costing Rs 4.5 crores is ready."

Professor Ramesh Bhat, Mohan Suvarna, Mohan Shetty, Sathish N Bangera helped in the success of the meet.
