Mumbai, Sep 3: "Social service aims at co-existence and the association worships art with that as the motto. Identifying the talented is the devotion of art. The large number of audience at the programme has made us grow and we are getting ahead with three and half decades of service. The association will indulge in the worship of art in the future too," said Veera Kesari Kalavrinda Mumbai president Ramesh Shetty Payyar.

Ramesh Payyar was speaking after presiding over 35th anniversary celebrations of Karnataka Sangha, Mumbai held at Dr M Vishveswaraya hall at Matunga (W) recently.

 

Mumbai Bunts Association president Shama N Shetty was the Chief Guest. Belman Seetharama B Shetty, former Manager of Vijaya Bank, Mumbai High court advocate Ananda V Shetty and Lion Krishna Hegde were present as Guests of Honour.

Three achievers of Mumbai viz Udupi and Bellary's Hotelier and Mine entrepreneur Suresh Shetty Ballary, Youth journalist Rons Bantwal and Bharathanatya expert and comedian Geetha Salian were felicitated by the guests. Astha P Shetty, Kritika Devadiga and Master Nikhil R Anchan who have been shining in different spheres were felicitated and congratulated on the occasion.

Bellary Suresh responding to the honour thanked for inviting him. The association identifies the talents of artistes and supports them. May the association be like a home for the artistes, he said. 

Shama Shetty spoke saying that the anniversary has honored them. "The association is like a breadth and may it promote more artistes," he said.

Krishna Hegde spoke saying that that is a memorable day for him and wished that the association may struggle for the survival of the art, he said.

The programme started by the prayer by Padmanabha Sasihitlu. Kalavrinda vice president advocate Gunakar Shetty welcomed. Honourary treasurer Navin Gulibettu, Cultural committee president Shamraj T Shetty honoured the guests by presenting flower bouquets. Bhasker Sasihitlu, Ratnakar Poojary and Geetha Salian introduced the felicitated. Vaishnavi Shetty conducted the cultural programme and Navin Karkera compered the programme. Honourary Chief Secretary Ramesh Shivapura proposed vote of thanks.

Several artistes presented dance porgrammes in the beginning of the programme. A comedy programme 'Telikeda Pulimunchi' led by Anand Perdooru under Kudla Manju Rai's direction was presented as part of the cultural programme.

The association is started by Tulu Kannadigas employed in Golden Chemcials employed in Dahisar. It was earlier known for religious programmes and later for dramas.
