Mumbai, Sep 12 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Friday was trading flat at 7.81 points or 0.03 percent up as healthcare stocks gained.
Good buying was observed in healthcare, consumer durables and auto sectors, while selling pressure was seen in metal sector.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,048.15 points, was trading at 27,003.68 points (at 2.09 p.m.) in the afternoon session, up 7.81 points or 0.03 percent from the previous day's close at 26,995.87 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 27,065.02 points and a low of 26,965.91 points in the trade so far.
The S&P BSE healthcare index gained 92.24 points, consumer durables index moved up by 88.31 points and auto index inched up by 85.39 points.
However, metal index dropped by 76.33 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also was trading flat at 0.60 point or 0.01 percent up at 8,086.30 points.
