Nishikori sets up quarterfinal clash with Wawrinka


Melbourne, Jan 26 (IANS): World No.5 Kei Nishikori is through to the Australian Open tennis tournament quarterfinals for the second time after overcoming Spaniard David Ferrer in straight sets here Monday.

The Japanese will look to reach the semi-finals at Melbourne Park for the first time when he faces defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka in the last eight after winning 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 Monday in a two hour seven minute battle.

The 25-year-old Nishikori hit 43 winners compared to only 14 by Ferrer.
