England not playing with fear: Stuart Broad

Sydney, March 4 (IANS): Hitting out at former captain Michael Vaughan, who had said England are “playing with fear”, fast bowler Stuart Broad has denied the allegation.

"I don't think we are playing with fear, we just haven't clicked the way we'd have liked," Broad was quoted as saying by BBC.

England have lost three of their four World Cup Pool A matches and face Bangladesh in a must-win game on Monday.

"When you are outside the group, looking from afar, it's very easy to pick on loads of different things but actually the group are in a really good place. We just haven't performed when we need to in the middle," said Broad.

England’s only win in the tournament came against minnows Scotland while all the others have been heavy defeats at the hands of Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

After the game against Bangladesh, England play their last Pool A match against Afghanistan on March 13 at the Sydney Cricket Ground here.

"We need to win two games and we are in the quarter-finals of the World Cup," added Broad, who has picked up only two wickets in four games.
