Argentina has Davis Cup edge: Brazil captain

Buenos Aires, March 6 (IANS): Argentina have a slight edge in their Davis Cup World Group first-round tie, said Brazil captain Joao Zwetsch ahead of the clash.

"They have an advantage by playing at home. But all five points will be highly disputed, there is no clear favourites," Zwetsch said on Thursday, reports Xinhua.

Brazil's Joao Souza, ranked 75th in the world, will take on Carlos Berlocq (67) in Friday's opening match at the Tecnopolis complex here. Argentina's World No.29 Leonardo Mayer will then meet Thomaz Bellucci (87).

In Saturday's doubles, Brazil pair of Bruno Soares and Marcelo Melo are likely to confront Federico Delbonis and Diego Schwartzman before Sunday's reverse singles.
