Mangalore, Feb 15: BSNL employees of the Dakshina Kannada Telecom district held a massive dharna in front of the general manager's office here on Thursday February 15.

The protest was led by BSNL Employees Union as per the directives issued by Federation of BSNL Employees Union. The employees demanded to grant permission to appear for TTA examinations for those members of staff who have just completed their 10+2 education.

They also demanded appointment on compassionate grounds and granting of TA to Grade IV employees.  The agitators also appealed the administration to cancel the following arbitary decisions of management such as Unjustified Unilateral Introduction of CDA rules, restriction i the number of office-bearers of union.

B P Narayana, district secretary of BSNL Employees Union addressed the protestors.  District FNTP secretary Balakrishnayya, president Venugopal Nambiar, treasurer Timmayya, assistant secretary Jerald D'Souza and K H Panduranga were also present during the agitation.
