Mumbai police arrest 'Miracle Doctor' Munir Khan

Mumbai, Mar 31 (TOI) : Self proclaimed scientist and miracle doctor Munir Khan was arrested by the Versova police on Tuesday after a complaint was lodged against him by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).

Khan, who has been arrested in the past, is accused of cheating patients by selling a tonic called 'Body Revival,' claiming that it could cure serious diseases like cancer. "A case was registered against him on March 14 by FDA," confirmed deputy commissioner Satyanarayan Chaudhary, zone IX.


Medicines worth Rs 3 crore have been recovered by FDA. It was a well-planned operation, said FDA sources.

    This fake doctor is arrested only to be released later ! Thanks to all the loopholes in our judiciary systems. My late brother-in-law who was a cancer patient is one of the victims of Munir Khan who claimed himself to be a scientist and doctor. We met Munir Khan in his residence in Mumbai and blindly believed when he claimed his miracle medicine would cure any kind of disease in the world ! He even used to appear in many TV channel, advertising and promoting his fake medicine by roping in famous TV anchor Tabbasum to take his interview, only to mislead the general public. He exploited my family financially & emotionally and played with the life of my bother-in-law who expired few years ago.

    Just because he told his medicine can cure cancer he was arrested. Had he told that his medicine is an Indian alternative to Viagra then police would not have arrested him. In India there are at least Ten thousand such quacks who sell Desi Viagra and never get arrested. If they put the Board of Unani or Ayurvedic medicine then they cannot be arrested as per Law !? A simple Registration is enough for such Doctors, they need not hold any real degrees in Ayurved or Unani.

    Record all the political promises before the election, if they are not fulfilled, at least 50%, these politicians must be put into jail for fraud and breach of trust.

    How many totally impossible political promises are delivered during the election time? Since there is no due accountability, the politicians are repeating the same fraud at every election season, and the electorate are infected with amnesia. Only a few fake doctors are caught now, but the same thing must start with the politicians also so they will be in jail and will miss some elections.

    When people find his medicines useful since last several years why this FDA is behind him. There are lot of other mafias who sells contaminated food and fake drugs in the market which kills thousands of people every year. This is nothing but revenge by FDA and police against Munir Khan. Last year two police officers and FDA officials caught red handed by ACB when they trying to extort money from Munir Khan's Son for not arresting his father.

    My Father was suffering from lung cancer, he was not able to speak and was not able to eat. but wen started to take his medicine he got his voice back and even he started to have food. but he was on the last stage as per the doctors, he suffered with an attack and we lost him. I don't know what is right and wrong.
