Mumbai, May 4: Well known hotelier in Mumbai and social worker Babu Iddanna Shetty(74), passed away at Holy Spirit Hospital on Mahakali Caves Road in Andheri east on Sunday morning, May 3 after a heart failure.


Babu Shetty hailed from Kinnikambala Perara, Mangaluru taluk of Dakshina Kannada district by origin. He was a hotel worker before becoming the owner of the hotels. He was the proprietor of Milan Punjab hotel at Koldongri on Andheri east Sahar road and Jayashree hotel at Saki Naka. He was a resident of Vasukamal building in Povai.

Babu Shetty has left behind his wife Jayanti Shetty, son Hemanth B Shetty and a large number of friends and relatives. The last rites of the deceased were held at Marol Satbagh Crematorium on Sunday, May 3. A large number of hoteliers and elite participated in the funeral and offered their homage. Leaders of several associations have expressed their condolences on the demise of Babu Shetty.
