New Delhi, June 20 (IANS): A court here on Saturday granted bail to Rajya Sabha parliamentarian Vijay Goel and others in a 2013 case related to violation of prohibitory orders.
Metropolitan Magistrate Akash Jain granted bail to Goel and three Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leaders, Jai Prakash, Gaurav Khari and Aadesh Kumar Gupta.
The court asked them to furnish a personal bond of Rs.5,000 and one surety of like amount each.
The court also framed charges dealing with violation of prohibitory orders against them.
After the accused pleaded not guilty and claimed trial, the court fixed August 1 for further hearing.
BJP youth wing workers led by the then party's Delhi unit president Goel had staged a protest in front of the residence of then Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here on May, 2013 demanding release of Delhi's share of water allegedly held back by the state.
A case was registered against them in central Delhi's Parliament Street police station.
