Rain brings down temperature in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Jun 29 (IANS): Heavy overnight rain in different parts of Uttar Pradesh has brought down the temperature in the state.

The rains are largely due to a depression over north India. The monsoon has finally hit the state, the Met Office said here.

While the rain gave relief from the scorching heat, water logging in different parts here created problems for the daily commuters and office-goers.

Met director J.P. Gupta said the weather would continue to be same over next few days after which the monsoon will take a break for sometime.

The maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 32.7 degrees celsius.

The movement of monsoon so far indicates that it would be a normal monsoon this year with heavy rain in eastern parts of the state, the Met Office said.
