Woman injured in Pakistan firing on LoC in Jammu


Jammu, Aug 5 (IANS): A civilian was injured in unprovoked firing overnight by the Pakistani Army on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu region, police said.

"A woman identified as Naseema Begum was injured when the Pakistani Army fired at Indian positions on the LoC in Poonch district at 11.30 p.m. yesterday (Tuesday)," a senior police officer told IANS here on Wednesday.

"The injured woman was shifted to Poonch district hospital."

A civilian was killed on Tuesday and another injured due to Pakistan shelling on civilian areas on the international border in Jammu district.
